Land is precious in a city like New York, but keeping such a big city liveable and investing in more greenery is just as important. The idea for this Little Island in New York started in 2013. Today it is a beautiful patch of greenery that also houses an open-air amphitheater. Or how culture and nature can go hand in hand in a city.
The architectural firm Hatherwick Studios is not ready for its test piece and made a new island of about 11,000 m2 in the Hudson River. The photos are by Timothy Schenck.
