The food forest is fantastically located on the south side of the first slope of the Flemish Ardennes. The garden fits in seamlessly with a park area with a coppice forest that turns purple from all the forest flowers, especially in spring.
A highly developed mantle with native shrubs and herbs is kept in growth by grazing and mowing management.
A very diverse insect life full of rare butterflies has developed here over the years. The perfect framework for a food forest.
An enormously diverse system in which solid food plants grow together in a sustainable, recurring whole. In up to seven layers, just like in the surrounding forest model.
There is no digging, but continuous bedding keeps everything healthy. Expect rare edible plants such as nashi, Japanese raisin tree, persimmon, kiwi, quince, medlar, apricot and dozens of varieties of small fruit in scents and colors.
Eternal kale, good henry, wild garlic, asparagus and even yam roots can be found (if you search carefully) in this jungle garden.

Edible flowers brighten up the whole and the rest of the garden is also planning a lot. We maintain soil fertility with a mushroom garden and compost toilet.
